What do I do with green tomatoes?

Every autumn we clear the polytunnels of the summer crops to make room for the new winter salads and other crops. There are always a few green tomatoes that haven’t had time to ripen and, not unreasonably, many ask, “what on earth do I do with these?”

Well, here’s a couple of ideas and there are probably more out there!

Fried green tomatoes vegetarian and vegan options

Riverford’s green tomato chutney recipe (as used by The Oak Tree Preserving Group)

and you can use green tomatoes as a regular ingredient in recipes such as curries and chilli!
