On the final day of our first week long holiday in two years I spent a day on a course at Charles Dowding‘s holding in Somerset. Charles is author of many fine books on no-dig gardening and his garden is impressive to say the least.

Healthy soil, healthy polytunnel
I’m now thinking about how we can apply Charles’ techniques at The Oak Tree. Seeing his gardens has made me realise that it is possible on the “few acres” scale – I used to apply no-dig techniques on a smaller scale, and couldn’t figure out to use them at the scale of The Oak Tree… but now I am mulling over some ideas. The trick is to find plenty of local muck….
