Autumn News from the Farm

Wonderful autumn produce is now being harvested, along with amazing colourful squashes; and exciting times as our new community building officially opened perfectly coinciding with the autumn equinox - it will provide welcome shelter from the elements in the coming months!

After a busy, successful growing season this year, we are now into a change of season; we celebrated the harvest as we reach the autumn equinox, a time for members to come together socially at the farm, with delicious food, drink, music and chat. Summer crops (such as aubergines, peppers, tomatoes) have come to an end, replaced by delicious autumn produce, including a variety of squashes, cabbage, broccoli, leeks and onions.

Our produce continues to be abundant, thanks to our no-dig garden and also lots of companion planting, such as cornflowers grown amongst the brassicas. And wonderful varieties of squashes have now been harvested and in storage for enjoying throughout the autumn and winter season.

Our new community building is now officially open, with shelter from the elements for our harvesting time and for social and educational events. We’ve consulted on our off grid solar power system and are hopeful to attract funding to support this as a wonderful enhancement to the farm.
